Make OpenAI Assistants act in Internal CRM — safely

OpenAI Assistants reason and decide; Upware carries that decision into your homegrown CRM — screen by screen, governed, audited, no API required.

The gap

OpenAI Assistants stops at the Internal CRM boundary

OpenAI's assistants call the tools you build them, but governing those tools across enterprise systems — RBAC, policy, audit, legacy reach — is the layer Upware provides.

In practice

Your CRM Has No API. That's Fine.

A sales rep asks the ChatGPT Enterprise assistant to update a prospect's status after a contract call. The assistant determines what needs to change, then hands the action to Upware. Upware's on-prem bridge replays the exact screen interaction it learned from your internal CRM — navigating the legacy screens your team built in 2009 — updates the record, posts the outcome note, and triggers the next workflow stage, all under the rep's RBAC permissions. Every field touched is written to a full audit trail before the assistant replies. The rep gets confirmation. Compliance gets a log.

The harness

AI to learn. Deterministic to execute.

Upware learns the process once and encodes it as a mostly-deterministic workflow: system interactions replay exactly, and any LLM steps are wrapped in policy, verification, and audit — so execution stays governed and drift-proof.

O
Observe & Learn
Records the real workflow once, across every system it touches.
G
Generate
Builds the API, data flow, and logic automatically — no integration project.
E
Encapsulate
Wraps it as a governed AI skill over secure MCP or API.
R
Run
Executes deterministically — RBAC, audit, and scale built in.
FAQ

Common questions

Our internal CRM has no API and no vendor support. Can Upware actually integrate with it?
Yes — that is specifically what Upware is designed for. It learns the system from its UI: recording screen interactions, web requests, and the underlying data flows during a one-time observation session. No API is needed, and no changes to the CRM itself are required. The on-prem bridge handles execution entirely within your network perimeter, outbound-only.
How does RBAC work when the CRM itself has no fine-grained access controls?
Upware enforces its own governed execution layer on top of whatever the system natively provides. Each AI skill is scoped to specific actions and specific users or roles — defined in Upware's policy layer, not the CRM. If a given user's permissions don't cover a requested action, Upware blocks the execution before it reaches the system. The full decision and block are recorded in the audit trail.
If the assistant decides to update a record, how do we know exactly what changed in the CRM?
Upware produces an action-level audit trail: which skill ran, under which identity, what inputs were passed, what the system returned, and a timestamp. Because execution is deterministic — replaying the learned interaction rather than letting an LLM improvise at runtime — the outcome is predictable and the record is precise. That log is available to your compliance and security teams independent of anything OpenAI logs on their side.
